Annual Spirit T-Shirts

This team designs T-shirt ideas to present to the Board for voting in the spring.  They then proceed to find the best vendor, order shirts, and offer them for sale during PTA events throughout the year, or until supplies are gone. 

 

Beautification
These volunteers help keep our school grounds looking nice by planting, watering and weeding.  They also plan and implement a design to beautify the school grounds.  They need people to:  1. A Green Team to meet bi-monthly for light yard work.  2. Brushy Creek scouts and other student groups to adopt a bed and work in it once a month.  3. Older scout troops to help with larger, more complex projects.  4. Anyone and everyone to join us for our quarterly campus clean-up days.  Do you love gardening and making a difference?  This is your place!  

 

BITS
High School students from McNeil engage with elementary students in various activities - carnival, babysitting for meetings, etc...

 

Carnival
This is the PTA's biggest fundraiser of the year -- and the most FUN!  Carnival is held annually in the spring and has numerous needs.  Volunteers are needed to help with sponsorships, advertising, booths, prizes, and concessions.  There is a place for you so join this committee and make this year's carnival a BLAST!

 

Clothes Closet
This team requests donations for RRISD clothes closet to distribute clothing to those in need.  They also sort the lost and found items and take items not picked up to the clothes closet.

 

Clothing for our BCE Nurse
Accidents happen!  Spilled milk, a wet slide, or an art room disaster can send your child to the nurse for a change of clothes.  Please send in some of your child's out grown clothes instead of selling them at a garage sale. Underclothes are available and always new, paid for by the PTA.
 

Collections/Labels
Need people to sort and send in labels to earn money for BCE. All money earned from these programs go straight to the BCE administration office. The PTA merely helps collect them for the schools benefit.

 

DARE Program
A 5th grade drug awareness program in conjunction with the Williamson County Sheriff's office.
 

Educational Projects

PTA donates money to BCE to provide incentives for reading programs, educational magazines for classroom learning, science items for teaching instruction in the lab, etc.
 

Field Day
Students come together with their classmates in the spring to participate in outdoor sporting events and games. Volunteers are needed to help set up and run the different activities and run water stations under the supervision of BCE's P.E. teachers. Contact PE coaches for further information.

Field Trips
PTA matches funds given by the district so that all BCE students can attend all field trips at no cost to the parents.

 

Focus on the Stars
Students who receive lunch assistance from the district are given a BCE school t-shirt and tickets to our annual spring carnival. 5th grade students also receive a yearbook.  Disaster relief as needed.

Homeroom Rep Coordinator
This homeroom coordinator keeps in touch with all homeroom parents to announce activities and needs. They can answer any questions the room parents have about their jobs.

Homeroom Parents

Each classroom has 1-2 parent assistants in each classroom.  The homeroom parent helps inform parents in the class about upcoming events like class parties, teacher birthdays/holiday gifts, silent auction baskets, and carnival volunteer needs. Please contact your child's teacher to sign-up.

 

International Children's Week
In November, we will be celebrating our different cultures through our annual International Children's Week.  The purpose of this week is to celebrate the diversity that makes our country, and our school, unique.

 

Kindergarten Liaison
This position organizes social events in the summer for entering kindergarten students and their families. Keeps parents informed of happenings and events in the Kindergarten grade level throughout the year as well as answer questions related to being new to the school and about BCE's PTA.

 

Kindergarten Roundup
Volunteers greet, welcome, and assist the school registrar with registration of new families and students at this event. 

 

Legislative School Board
Attends RRISD board meetings and informs the BCE PTA Board of actions taking place.


Library
The PTA is a big sponsor of our school library.  We provide funds for books to be checked out, the literacy library, for classroom teaching, and special reading programs throughout the year.  Please contact the library to volunteer.

 


Membership
This team provides membership campaign and information throughout the year.  Collects membership forms, dues, and handles distribution of t-shirt orders. Keeps records of members and spirit merchandise purchases. 

 

Pet Clinic
This team works with our community veterinarian Dr. Tarlton to offer shots, and medications for a share in the profits.  A set of shots for cats or dogs is on about $20! They also help advertise the event and the veterinarian on the day of the clinic.  Love animals?  This is the place for you!

 

Pictures Day
"Smile -- say cheese!"  This team assists with individual school pictures in the fall and spring by escorting children to and from classrooms, helping with retakes, and group pictures.

 

PTA Council Representatives
Attend Round Rock Council of PTA meetings and keep PTA board aware of pending council actions.

SEPAC
(Special Education Parents Advisory Council)  Attend RRISD-wide SEPAC meetings and keep Board advised.

 

Silent Auction
This is held in conjunction with our annual spring Carnival and is very EXCITING!  Silent Auction needs volunteers to solicit business and restaurant donations, work with homeroom representatives to gather classroom baskets, set-up and close out the auction, and distribute items to winners.

 

Site Based Volunteer
This position meets with site based advisory committee on Brushy Creek's campus.   They assist in ideas and follow through on items brought to the attention of the Advisory Committee for resolution.  Communication to the PTA Board is encouraged.

 

Staff Appreciation
This team helps show our staff what they mean to us.  We would like to meet the goal of monthly providing a "special" treat for the staff.  If you love planning and hosting events or baking and cookiing, this is your team!  Look for signups by clicking on the volunteer tab on the main page.

 

Teacher Workroom
These volunteers come in to help teachers "get things done".  Items are left in the workroom with directions and names in case of questions.  You can meet other parents by working once a week cutting, copying, laminating, or whatever the need may be.

 

Volunteer Liaison

This volunteer coordinates and sends out emails to PTA members requesting volunteers or items needed at BCE.  This position works closely with the PTA Board and school staff.

 

Watch D.O.G.S. Coordination
PTA funds a pizza night for Watch Dog kick-off night as well as providing a coordinator to help schedule all the dates for Watch D.O.G.S. on campus at Brushy Creek.
 

Website & Facebook
This position works closely with office, staff, teachers, and PTA Board to keep website and our Facebook page's information correct.

 

Yearbook
A year round position that works with a designated representative from the Yearbook company the PTA has chosen for the yearbook. The chair person encourages photos from all grade levels and school events to be submitted by all Brushy Creek families throughout the entire year for potential use in the yearbook.  Pictures are organized and photo layouts and pages are designed through the company's software that is provided as well as Pride Lines for 5th grade students are solicited and organized from 5th grade families in the spring semester to be included in the yearbook.  Deadline for yearbook submission for print is usually March. Once yearbooks arrive, usually in May, the chair person distributes those to everyone who has pre-ordered and then sells the extra stock before and/or afterschool.
